1968 Rickenbacker 360 Fireglo Vintage Semi-Hollow Guitar w/ Case, Toaster Tops

1968 Rickenbacker 360 Fireglo Vintage Semi-Hollow Guitar w/ Case, Toaster Tops

Up for sale, a 1968 Rickenbacker 360 in excellent condition and in perfect working order, complete with the original hardshell case. An quintessential example of the "new style" 360 body with rounded edges on top and checkerboard binding framing the back, first introduced in the mid-60s, this Rickenbacker features a gloss Fireglo finish and a pair of Toaster Top pickups.

The 360's semi-hollow construction delivers a natural warmth and breadth, balanced by the articulation and treble detail of maple as a tonewood. These qualities are channeled faithfully via the alnico magnet Toaster Top pickups, and each pickup position has a distinct, chiming sound with Rickenbacker's unmistakable jangle. This 360 weighs 6lbs 14oz, professionally setup here at Mike & Mike's Guitar Bar with 11-49 strings, low action, and accurate intonation.

Neck Specs:

-Wood: Maple/walnut
-Shape: Medium D, measuring .855ā€ 1st fret, .885ā€ 12th fret
-Fretboard: Padauk, gloss stripped, crushed glass triangular inlay
-Frets: Narrow/tall, refret, pristine
-Scale Length: 24 3/4ā€
-Nut: 1 5/8ā€, bone (replacement)
-Headstock: Lucite truss rod cover
-Tuners: Kluson Deluxe double-line, 1x Kluson ā€œno lineā€ (vintage replacement, D string)

Body Specs:

-Wood: Maple
-Pickups: Toaster Top x2
-Controls: Volume x2, Tone x2, Blend, Three-way pickup selector
-Harness: CTS pots date to the 25th week of ā€˜67
-Hardware: Six-saddle bridge, ā€œRā€ tailpiece
-Plastics: Two-tier pickguard (acrylic replacement), reflector knobs, ā€œbatonā€ switch tip
-Serialization: HA-prefix on stereo ā€œRick-o-Soundā€ jack plate translates to January, 1968

The body interior has factory markings for a 365 (with Ac’cent vibrato), yet this model left the factory as a 360, a common occurrence with Rickenbacker in this era. Of note, the bridge is the more desirable version of the era without the roller saddles, offering increased stability and sustain. The guitar exhibits some tiny finish chips on the body edge and various small nicks and scuffs from use, with shallow buckle wear on the back. The neck profile is clean and smooth with just a few minor marks.

The original silver tolex hardshell case is included. The case is reinforced inside on one end, and the two outer latches are non-functional. The original two-tiered pickguard is also included (missing a couple corners on the upper guard).
