1983 Fender JV Stratocaster '57 Vintage Reissue ST57-65 100% Original w/ Fullerton Pickups, Japan MIJ Fujigen

1983 Fender JV Stratocaster '57 Vintage Reissue ST57-65 100% Original w/ Fullerton Pickups, Japan MIJ Fujigen

Up for sale, a 1983 Fender JV Stratocaster '57 vintage reissue model ST57-65 in 100% original condition and in perfect working order. Produced in the second year of Fender Japan production, this "Japanese Vintage" (JV) series guitar is an uncommon model, with the same pickups used on the Fender USA Fullerton factory reissues from the same year.

This alder-bodied Strat has a balanced, lively natural acoustic quality which translates faithfully through the trio of single coils. The Fullerton-made single coils feature the hallmarks of ā€˜50s Stratocaster production, with staggered alnico magnets, black fiber bobbins and push-back, cloth-covered leads. There’s a distinct sound in each position on the three-way pickup selector, from sparking chime to bell-like percussive cut, and cheating the ā€œin-betweenā€ positions yields hollow quack. Weighing 7lbs 15oz, this ST57-65 has been professionally setup here at Mike & Mike’s Guitar Bar with 10-46 strings, low action, and accurate intonation.

Neck Specs:

-Wood: Maple
-Shape: Medium C, measuring .850ā€ 1st fret, .940ā€ 12th fret
-Fretboard: Maple, 7 1/4" vintage-spec radius
-Frets: Slender, leveled/crowned, moderate wear beneath the plain strings on frets 1-3-Scale Length: 25 1/2ā€
-Nut: 1.650ā€ (42mm), bone
-Tuners: Kluson-style, Gotoh
-Headstock: JV-era large ā€œFenderā€ logo, ā€œMade in Japanā€ text
-Serialization: JV-prefix (neck plate)
-Factory Markings: 2-7-83 pencil date on neck heel, ā€œCā€ stamp indicates 65 model tier and price (Ā„65,000)

Body Specs:

-Wood: Alder
-Pickups: Fullerton-made black bobbin single coil x3
-Harness: Untouched solder, full-size Japanese pots date to December, 1982
-Controls: Volume, Tone x2, Three-way pickup selector
-Hardware: Synchronized Tremolo, jack cup
-Plastics: One-ply white pickguard, knobs, gently aged pickup covers

There is a single (sizable) finish chip at the bass-side lower bout edge on the back, and cosmetic wear on the gloss two-tone Sunburst finish is otherwise limited to faint buckle scuffing (largely concentrated at the belly contour) and a few small dings on the body as a whole. The gloss on the neck profile is smooth and clean.
